good evening. i'm dan ashley. >> i'm carolyn johnson. we are also seeing fast-moving showers and lightning strikes. >> abc7 news meteorologist sandhya patel is tracking it for us on live doppler 7hd. >> dan and carolyn, our radar is now seeing the activity dying down. it was watching it develop. let me show you where we are still seeing some very light returns right now. live doppler 7hd is tracking some light rain around watsonville, out toward 129 and highway 1. take a look at this loop over the last three hours. the rain moved from the antioch rio vista area to the livermore valley. quickly moving into san jose, the santa cruz mountains we have had reports of hail and some brief downpours and snow in the mount hamilton-mount diablo area and one lightning strike east of fremont. as you look here the cold is settling in. another freeze warning for the santa clara valley. 2:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. freeze damage to crops and

minutes later on cannon avenue. a third victim died after being shot on 24th street around 4:15 and gunfire took a fourth victim around 8:30 on hillside street. sky 7hd shows us this view of officers at the scene of today's first shooting on 17th street. they also looked for clues and witnesses where a man was found dead near diamond canyon park. no arrests have been made in any of these shootings. sky 7hd was overhead after a man's body was found at a recycling facility. the sonoma county sheriff identified the dead man late this evening. the deputies are not releasing his name until his family is notified. earlier investigators said he did not work at the novato disposal services. there were no obvious signs of trauma, but they are treating the death as suspicious. about 150 people came together in san francisco's mission district stop to a stop to violence against women. demonstrators carried banners as they marched along valencia street. it continues -- it comes after a woman escaped a would be

rapist at 23rd and guererro street. the woman fought him off and screamed for help. he ran away after they opened their windows and turned on their lights. the victim got the word out through social media. new at 11:00, frustrated apartment residents wanted us to show the tape we are going to play in hopes of identifying who has been stealing their mail. the tape shows two people breaking into the building on wednesday morning. the thieves stole the contents of the mailboxes and residents claim police did not respond until today after the same two people broke in again. >> it was a very busy city so we have to prioritize our calls. we have our a, b and c priorities. as much as we would like to be everywhere, it is very difficult. >> residents say police told them postal inspectors would have to handle this since the theft was from inside the mailbox. also new at 11:00, charlie the pittbull is getting a reprieve. last august charlie attacked a

mounted police man and his horse. charlie was ordered euthanatized, but the sentence was suspended as the owner fought to keep the dog alive. they will now place charlie in an animal sanctuary. moving on, it is do or die time for the 49ers tomorrow. they face a tough game against the packers at candlestick, and they are showing their team spirit. at the golden gate bridge toll takers were in 49ers apparel. ama dates is live on the embarcadero. coit tower is in red and gold too. >> yes, dan. coit tower looks spectacular all in red. the 49er fans are ready to cheer on our team tomorrow and police are ready to make sure the excitement doesn't get out of hand. san francisco is glowing with 49er pride ahead of tomorrow's big playoff game against the packers. gop game time candlestick will be swarming with people and police. more officers that are usually at home games.

held for the petaluma teen who disappeared after a new year's eve music festival in south lake tahoe. alyssa burns' body was found by a utility worker last friday in a snow bank not far from the snow globe music festival she attended. an autopsy did not determine

the cause of death. sheriff deputies are now waiting for toxicology results. that could take up to six weeks. the public memorial is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. tomorrow at casa grande high school. her family is asking those who attend to wear pink, her favorite>> well well, people in alyssa's hometown learned she was missing in part because of the efforts of a man known as petaluma batman. you are about to see why they call him that and what he does to help others. sergio you talked to this real life caped crusader. he may make people chuckle, but he tries to do some good. >> this just the last month is when the petaluma batman started roaming the streets of the city. in that short time he got the town talking and quite a few people cheering him on. for the last few weeks this caped character has been scooting through the streets

of petaluma on a mission. >> it has taken uh hold in the newest move vees. at night he keeps an eye on the city and calling police if he sees anything out of the ordinary. >> if i do see something i will call the cops and make sure everything is going smoothly. he has battles and choreographed fights downtown. this all started as a dare with a facebook profile and quickly caught the attention of thousands of people on-line. >> i started to go out and people started to recognize that's what i was doing. it is entertainment value and not vigilante and here we are with 3700 likes. >> he posted about charitable organizations and other events that can use some extra attention. alyssa burns wept missing in the lake tahoe area.

we had mou over mount hamilton and mount diablo. it was brief, but it came in. this was sent to you report. icy conditions in the santa cruz mountains. you will see more pictures like this when you wake up tomorrow morning. we do have frost econ decisions ahead. 34 in napa and it is getting cold in concord. 30 sick degrees. 39 in livermore. most other areas are in the 40s and 39 in novato. a string of cold nights ahead. sunny and cool for your weekend. we are looking at dry and milder weather next week. we will see a change, but not immediately. we did have that bit of moisture move through and this cold air mass is with us. we had another system diving south, but this one looks like it will remain off the coastline. we will get a couple clouds. but you notice at 11:00 the rain is off the coast.

the skies will be pretty much clear going into the morning hours and mostly sunny by your saturday afternoon. by saturday night the skies will be clear again and dryer air mass in place. cold again tomorrow night. as a matter of fact by sunday morning and monday morning we may be talking about low to mid20s. it may even get colder in some of our valleys. tomorrow morning bundle up if you have early plans. 28 napa and 29 in santa rosa. 28 degrees in fairfield. it is going to be freezing cold in livermore. 33 san jose. palo alto right down to freezing and 30 degrees in santa cruz. tomorrow afternoon mostly sunny, but we will keep it cool. upper 40s to the low 50s around the entire bay area. a nice cool day in monterey bay. it is 49ers playoff against the green bay packers. if you are heading to the game make sure you have a jacket or sweater.
